North Star has welcomed an amazing new client to our roster, and we kicked off the relationship in a most invigorating way – promoting both tremendous education for us and, in Michelle’s case – quite a bit of soreness as well.
Chiron Sports Performance is a Bloomfield Hills-based business established by Dr. Chibuzo “Casey” Ohanaja and his wife Heather Ohanaja. We gave it the generic label of “business” rather than sticking it in a category because there really isn’t a category for what they do at Chiron.
Except to say that if you’re an athlete, you will want to know Chiron.
This is more than a sports medicine practice; it’s a science lab for athletes. They apply science, technology, medical insight and Dr. Oh’s own background as an athlete to assess your performance, your risk of injury and your overall athletic makeup.
They generate your own personal Athlete Blueprint – think full 3D model of your body – complete with tailored data and actions steps to help you prevent injuries, recover from any you’ve had and enhance your overall performance. And then, they train you. They push you. You become the very best athlete you have ever been.
And they didn’t just tell us about all this. They showed us – by putting Michelle through the 90-minute testing process. Ever the trooper ready for an adventure, Michelle went through all the motions – the jumping, the stretching, the turning, the reaching . . . all of it – while monitors recorded her every motion and sent data to the system to analyze what was going on.
It was quite the experience, with the entire analytical team and Dr. Oh himself on hand for every second of it.
The story of this family and its practice has been a real rush to jump into, and even better will be the stories of the athletes who will be healthier and better players because of what they will learn at Chiron.
As for post-testing Michelle? She loaded up on electrolytes and bravely soldiered through the soreness – knowing she had learned a lot and performed like the champion she is.
Just like we would expect all Chiron clients to be.
